Thank you so much for your great food, fast service, friendly staff, and customer service. Although not a resident of Milbank, I frequently pay visits to my customer, Ottertail, Big Stone Generation, where I enjoy my lunch nearly ever day at your nice place. - Brian Olson

About us

Brothers David and Jimmy Forrette grew up in Sisseton, South Dakota where they both worked in the restaurant business as young boys. David graduated from South Dakota State University with a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management. Jimmy has worked for Pepsi in Ortonville, Minnesota for many years. The Forrette brothers along with their wives formed 4-et Incorporated in February of 2000 (4-et is a basic representation of how to pronounce their last name). On February 15th, 2000 they purchased the Millstone Family Restaurant in Milbank, South Dakota.

David and his wife Sheri along with their three children, Brittney, Ashley, and Ben, relocated from Brookings after purchasing the business. David is the General Manager of the Millstone overseeing the day-to-day operations.

Jimmy and his wife Lisa have made Milbank their home for over 25 years with their children, Eric, Jessica, and Laney. Jimmy and Lisa sold their share of the business to David and Sheri at the end of 2018.

Kim Peschong joined as a partner in January of 2016. She is the Front Service Manager taking care of everything you see out front. She is from the Milbank area and has worked at the Millstone since high school.

The Millstone Family Restaurant expanded into the catering business in 2003 which included a complete remodel of our kitchen and adding an area to prepare catered meals. We have since prepared and served meals for many local events including weddings, reunions, graduations, grand openings, birthdays, and athletic and scholarship banquets. We also cater to local businesses on a weekly basis.

In January of 2016, the front of the Millstone was revamped with a complete remodel. Everything changed from the flooring to ceiling including new tables, chairs, bathrooms, and decorations.
